9 November                Talk: “Wonder: The Integration of Art and Science in the Music of Carla Scaletti,” Madison Heying

Time:  6:00 –7:00 pm
Location: W130 School of Music

Madison Heying pursues doctoral studies in musicology at the University of California, Santa Cruz. Her research centers on experimental music, particularly the interplay of technology and compositional practices, and women composers. Her talk focuses on Carla Scaletti’s musical modeling of complex physical systems and pioneering of the Kyma System, an environment for creating, manipulating, combining and interacting with high-quality audio signals.
